Host Database Field: DNS TTL

[This document describes a field in the Princeton University Host Database. You may also view descriptions of other fields.]

This field is used to specify the time-to-live (in seconds) that should be assigned to all of this entry's Internet Domain Name Service Resource Records (if any). When specified, it overrides the system-wide default DNS TTL (currently 12 hours).

This field is normally not set except in very unusual circumstances. It cannot be set or changed via the Web; if you believe you need to change its value, send email to hostmaster@princeton.edu .
