[This document describes a field in the

This field documents the operating system running on this machine.
Tips:
-
IBM PC (and clone) computers usually run one of the following
operating systems: MS-WINDOWS-XP, MS-WINDOWS-2000, MS-WINDOWS-NT, MS-WINDOWS-ME, MS-WINDOWS-98, or MS-WINDOWS-95.
-
Macintosh (and clone) computers usually run the MAC-OS or MAC-OS-X operating system.
-
If your computer runs multiple operating systems (e.g. at different times), see if one of the choices lists
all of them. Otherwise, simply select any one of the operating systems you run (e.g. perhaps the one you run
most often).
-
If your device is an X-TERMINAL, choose X11 as your operating system.
-
If your device is a PRINTER, choose N/A (not applicable) as your operating system.
-
If your device is some other dedicated piece of network infrastructure (e.g. a bridge, NAT,
wireless access point), choose N/A (not applicable) as the operating system.
