What IP Address is Assigned to My Mac's Network Interface?

When your Mac was registered in the Princeton University Host Database, each network interface was likely assigned an IP address (unless the person registering the device specified that no IP address should be assigned).

An IP address is a number that usually looks something like: 128.112.aaa.bbb or 140.180.aaa.bbb (except your numbers may be different, and you will have numbers instead of letters).

Each network interface is assigned a different IP address.
