Temporary Unregistered Dormnet (TUD) IP Address Service will be retired June 11 2018.

The service allowed devices attached to the Dormnet IP network but not yet subscribed to Dormnet to have some limited access to campus network.

This service was provided to allow students to submit Dormnet Subscription forms from their computers attached via OIT Ethernet Service in dormitory rooms, graduate annexes, and apartments before those computers began receiving normal Dormnet service (because those devices were not yet subscribed to Dormnet).

The number of students' devices attached to the Dormnet IP network is low. The Dormnet IP network is an OIT Ethernet network; most students' device instead attach via wireless services provided by OIT. And beginning Summer 2017, OIT stopped providing OIT Ethernet Service in dormitory rooms, graduate annexes, and apartments (those in which OIT provided Ethernet Service) except upon request.

The retirement of TUD service is also in preparation for OIT's planned Retirement of the Princeton University Host Database and Related Services.
